The Southeastern Skunk Ape Research Center Mission Statement The Southeastern Skunk Ape Research Center seeks to determine through scientific methodologies the reality and origin of the phenomena commonly known as "Bigfoot." The center is devoted to the idea that this phenomena is not spurious. Rather, it is simply beyond normal explanation commonly accepted as scientific descriptors. Simply, something is out there, people see it and can't easily explain it. Our goal is to use the entire spectrum of science to explore this phenomenon. We can not expect to achieve scientific result without being able (or willing) to utilize all of the evidence available to formulate theory. Therefore, we covenant to explore this mystery with an open mind. We will not be bullied into any position (whether a biologic origin or a paranormal origin and/or any other suggested origin) that can not be substantiated through tangible scientific evidence. We covenant to work with other researchers. Our goal is to solve this mystery and the solution will involve individuals who may or may not be directly involved with our local efforts. We are not a social club - we are scientists - and will conduct ourselves in a manner which will promote mutual cooperation among the varied research groups and individual researchers. Our mission is to bring all of the divergent streams of thought together. In this way we may finally be able to achieve the "Holy Grail" of this pursuit: the tangible proof of "Bigfoot's" existence.
